Chino Valley on full speed with Ovotrack

Some retailers want their suppliers to comply with the new FSMA regulation for traceability in July of this year, but everyone else has about one year from now with the deadline of January 20th, 2026.

For Chino Valley Ranchers in California that is no issue at all as they decided to implement the Ovotrack Solution and are using that full speed since last year.

Henry Hernandez, who is the Ovotrack Champion at Chino Valley explains: ‘we label all pallets of Nest Run Eggs during the receiving process and register egg type, date of lay and date of collection for each pallet. We scan those pallet labels again before eggs are put on the loader of our graders. For batch changes we use the Ovotrack ECI Solution. Through the connection with our graders, supplier data is send to the grader and grade-out data returns in Ovotrack. On the finished good side, all pallets are labelled and then scanned to orders during the Order picking and Dispatch process.’

Chino Valley is also using Ovotrack for inventory management of packaging material.

John Tarazono, CFO at Chino Valley continues: ‘Ovotrack helps us with the new FSMA regulation and inventory management as well as gathering grade out data from all flocks that we are grading. We are currently considering the upgrade to Ovotrack 4 as that will bring even more benefits.
